This night it was Teresa Salgueiro and & Lusitania Ensemble. She´s from Portugal and is one of Portugal´s most acclaimed singers. She has an amazing voice which was complimented by the violins, cello and percussion in the Ensemble. They had 2 encores! My favorite song (which they sung again during one of the encores) was called Amanha. Fabulous. I must by their CDs when I get back. Really interesting mix of sounds, rythms, and beats.
Not only was the music fantastic, but the venue was breathtaking. The pics below don´t do it justice. There are figures on the backdrop of the stage whose lower halves are painted on the wall and their torsos are sculptures coming out of the wall. When the lights are dimmed to blue or red, the figures almost look like they´re dancing out of the wall. Increíble!
